How does Advent lighthouse minister Jesus Christ to Iran? (3ABN interview part II)

The program features Shelley and JD Quinn interviewing Pastor Shabbaz of Advent Lighthouse Ministries after a musical piece (“Sanctuary” by Stephanie Dawn). He shares his conversion from Shiite Islam to Christianity through a personal encounter with Jesus, later embracing the Seventh-day Adventist faith after a dream about the Sabbath. Called to serve Persian/Farsi speakers across Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and the diaspora, he founded Advent Lighthouse Ministries in 2014, partnering with the Adventist Middle East–North Africa Union. Despite persecution in Iran (arrests, interrogations, and restrictions), underground house churches have grown from three to over thirty, kept small (~15 people) and mobile for safety; many converts report dreams or visions of Jesus.

The ministry currently supports about 20 Bible workers (aiming for 40) with stipends, materials, and training in nearby countries, plus weekly Zoom discipleship. They report roughly 900–1,000 baptisms and are expanding media outreach (Farsi Bible study guides tailored for Muslims, Instagram/YouTube content, radio in Sweden/North America, and AWR broadcasts), with a long-term vision for a 24/7 Farsi satellite network and additional Persian-language church plants in major U.S. and European cities.
